Maxed iOS Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: July 20, 2026
The short version: Maxed never sends a photo of your face off your iPhone until you read a clear notice and tap to agree. When you scan, the selfie you take is sent to Google's Gemini AI to create your results. Maxed keeps no copy of your photo on its servers. Your photo and results stay in the app's private storage on your phone until you delete them. Maxed never sells your face data or shares it for advertising.
This policy covers face data in the Maxed iPhone app and adds to our general Privacy Policy, which explains everything else the app and website collect. For the iPhone app, this policy applies where the two differ. Face data here means the selfie you send and anything Maxed works out from it.
1. What face data the app collects
Maxed only collects face data when you choose to scan:
- Your selfie: one photo you take with the app's front camera.
- Camera framing: while the camera is open, your iPhone checks whether your face is centered so the app can guide you. This happens on your phone and is never sent anywhere.
- On-device measurements: your iPhone may measure things like symmetry and eye spacing. Maxed stores the numbers, not a face template that could identify you.
Maxed does not use Face ID or TrueDepth data, and never builds a faceprint or any way to identify you from your face.
2. How Maxed gets your permission
You take the selfie yourself with the camera. Right before the camera opens, Maxed shows a screen that names Gemini as the AI service, explains what your photo is used for, and links this policy and the Terms. Tapping Continue is how you agree to send your photo. If you don't agree, don't continue, and nothing is sent. Maxed remembers your agreement only on your phone, and never treats camera permission, a purchase, or simply using the app as consent.
3. How Maxed uses your face data
Maxed only uses your face data for the scan features you ask for: to frame the camera, create your scores and report, suggest a routine, keep your scan history on your phone, generate the optional Your Potential image, and save a card to your Photos only when you tap Save.
Scores and tips are for fun and self-improvement. They are not medical, dermatological, or any other kind of official assessment.
4. Who your face data is shared with
Google (Gemini AI) receives your selfie to create your results. Maxed uses Gemini's paid service, under which Google does not use your photo to train or improve its AI.
Cloudflare runs the Maxed server that passes your photo to Google. It handles the photo only to forward it and keeps no copy.
Maxed does not send your photo, scores, or measurements to any advertising, analytics, or payment company, and Google gets no name, email, or account ID with your photo.
5. How long it's kept
- On Maxed's server: nothing is kept. Your photo passes through only long enough to get your result.
- At Google: Google keeps scan requests for a short period to watch for misuse, then deletes them under its own policy. Because Maxed sends no name or account with the photo, this is controlled by Google.
- On your iPhone: your photo, scores, and measurements stay in the app's private storage until you delete them or delete the app.
- Cards you save: a card you save to Photos stays there until you delete it yourself.
6. How to delete your data or take back consent
Take back consent: open Settings, then Privacy & Face Data, then Revoke AI face consent. This stops any future scans and transfers to Google until you agree again.
Delete your face data: open Settings, then Privacy & Face Data, then Delete Face Data. This removes your saved photos, scores, measurements, and scan history from your phone. Deleting the app removes them too.
7. Protecting your data with our providers
Maxed shares face data with Google and Cloudflare only as needed to run a scan, and requires them to protect it as strongly as this policy promises. Neither may use your face data for their own advertising, profiling, identity recognition, or AI training. If a provider cannot offer the same protection, Maxed stops sending it face data.
8. Changes and contact
If we ever change what face data we collect, who receives it, or how it is used, we will update this policy and ask for your consent again before that change takes effect. Questions: [email protected].
